Sevilla complete signing of Bayern Munich defender Tanguy Nianzou

Sevilla have signed centre-back Tanguy Nianzou from Bayern Munich on a permanent deal until 2027. The agreed transfer fee is believed to be €20m.

Nianzou only turned 20 as recently as June but made 22 appearances for Bayern in all competitions last season as the club won yet another Bundesliga title.

The France Under-20 international was born in Paris and made the switch to German football in 2019 when he left the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain.

The switch to Sevilla now represents a third different country for Nianzou in his young career.

It is expected that Nianzou will replace Jules Kounde in the Sevilla squad following his fellow countryman’s recent move to Barcelona.

Sevilla will spend a third consecutive season in the Champions League in 2021/22 after another top four finish in La Liga. Nianzou already has experience in the competition after two starts against Benfica and Dynamo Kyiv last season and further appearances against Barcelona and RB Leipzig.
