Nigerian Singer Ruger Paid Ksh3.6 Million For Half An Hour Show In Meru

Nigerian singer Ruger was paid millions even though he failed to live up to the expectations of fans and event organizers.

Ruger headlined the Walker Town concert which was held at the Kinoru stadium in Meru town on October 8, 2022.

According to Nation, the Nigerian artiste was paid Ksh3.6 million with the timetable indicating that he was supposed to perform for one and a half hours.

However, Ruger did not live up to the expectations of revellers who had turned up to have a good time at the concert.

He only performed for 38 minutes and most of the time he was off-key, struggling to match the playback of his trendy songs.

A section of revelers who graced the concert took to social media to lament about the performance.

Over 3, 000 people grace the Meru concert. Tickets for the concert retailed at Ksh1, 000 for advance and Ksh2.500 for VIP.

Ruger landed in Kenya after staging another performance in Tanzania. After the Kenyan concert, he left for South Sudan where he is set to headline another show over the weekend.

His Kenyan show sparked an angry reaction from Eric Omondi who slammed local event organizers for booking foreign musicians at the expense of local artistes.
