Nigerian Singer, Asake Breaks Apple Music’s Record As First African Album With Biggest Opening Day

Popular Nigerian singer, Asake has broken Apple Music’s record as the first African Album with the biggest opening day.

This was revealed by Apple Music in a statement stating that Asake’s album, ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe’ has broken the record for the biggest opening day for an African album in Apple Music history.

“Asake had a record-breaking weekend on Apple Music with the release of his debut album, ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe.’ Upon its release, the album broke the record for the biggest opening day for an African album in Apple Music history.”

That was not all. It was reported that the album also broke the record for the biggest opening three days for an African album in Apple Music history.

Following the release of ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe,’ Asake had nine tracks launched to the Global Daily Top 100.

Also, the album reportedly peaked at Number One on the Top Albums Chart in 31 different nations, including Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. 

Songs from the album also made it to the Daily Top 100 in 60 different countries, including 26 where they peaked at number 10, while other songs hit number one in 14 different nations.

It is safe to say ‘Ololade mi Asake’ as he fondly calls himself is on fire.
