Nicole Ari Parker getting in shape for ‘And Just Like That…’

With just a couple of weeks left until production starts for the second season of her show “And Just Like That…” Nicole Ari Parker is coming face-to-face with the downside of a high fashion wardrobe: the tiny sizes.

“I really showed out this summer with the bread and the cheese and the wine and the butter and I am paying for it now,” she joked to Page Six, “I’m currently getting myself together because the show is all about high fashion.”

The mother-of-two and her family are usually based in Los Angeles, but she stays in an apartment in New York when filming the HBO series. So her husband, “Station 19” star Boris Kodjoe flies in to visit for a few days at a time — and she says it can be a distraction when you have to fit so much into a short visit.

“It does hurt with the focus while at the work and focusing on the script, it does. It’s a lot. It’s a huge commitment like anything else that I do and want to do. I want to be home. I want to be at work. But I’m happy, so I find the energy. I just try to make it all work somehow.”

And when it comes to riding the subway amid the uptick in crime and the COVID crisis, the 51-year-old isn’t worried. But does pack cleaning supplies.

“I’m not nervous to ride the New York subway. I’m from Baltimore; I’m a city girl,” she said, “But I will be taking Microban 24 and Bounty paper towels to wipe down my seat. But I’m not scared at all.”

“I’m looking forward to the second season,” she adds, “Meeting Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Dixon in person [last season], I mean they are iconic and they are legends. To find out how generous and warm they were as actors and just as people it was awesome. I can’t wait to go back.”
