While the NFL is constantly growing its audience overseas, it is king in the United States.
The league accounted for 75 of the 100 most-watched broadcasts of 2021.
Because of those numbers, they also dominate in the Christmas games as compared to the NBA.

NBC Sports’ Warren Sharp compared the viewership for holiday games of both leagues in 2021.
The game between the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers pulled in 28.6 million views.
In contrast, the game between the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns had only 5.1 million.
Then, the Indianapolis Colts-Arizona Cardinals contest had 12.6 million views.
Meanwhile, the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets had 5.7 million.
Sharp also made a side comment saying, “If Baker & Wentz smashed the NBA, just imagine what this stacked QB lineup does.”
The 2022 NFL Christmas Game Schedule
NBA insider Shams Charania shared that five games will be played on Christmas Day.
Meanwhile, the NFL will have three games that day, starting with the Packers against the Miami Dolphins.
Aaron Rodgers will try to give the Packers another playoff berth after Davante Adams‘ departure.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins are a stacked team with the addition of Chase Edmonds, Cedrick Wilson, and Tyreek Hill.
Then there’s the game between the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams which will feature Russell Wilson and Matthew Stafford, respectively.
The Rams are also the reigning Super Bowl champions while the Broncos can finally realize their talent with Wilson on board.
Finally, the third game will feature Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going up against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals.
Having Brady alone will generate massive ratings for that game.
