Celebrating a “heavenly birthday.”
NeNe Leakes penned an emotional tribute to her late husband Gregg Leakes on what would have been his 67th birthday.
“Missing the man that always had a plan!,” the 55-year-old wrote on Instagram Tuesday alongside a photo of NeNe hugging her late husband from behind.
She continued, “Today is a tuff [sic] one…every year on this date we would be out celebrating you! I can’t believe we are wishing you a heavenly Birthday today. I feel like you went somewhere and you’ll be back.”
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum concluded the post saying, “I miss you every day Gregg! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH.”
The real estate investor died in September 2021 from colon cancer, just three moths after the reality star announced his cancer had returned.
The businessman was first diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in 2018. Gregg underwent six months of chemotherapy only for the disease to come back in June 2021.
“After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes,” read a statement from the family at the time of his death.
Since his passing, the reality star moved on with couture suit king Nyonisela Sioh. According to the former Bravo star, she even got her late husband’s seal of approval.
“I will love Gregg forever & ever! Grieving is hard! Even harder & depressing alone,” the “RHOA” alum told The Shade Room in December. “Gregg and I had a very tearful conversation before his passing. His words to me were ‘be happy, keep smiling and he who finds you, has found a good one.’”
Although it’s unclear how long the “Glee” alum and Sioh have been together, they were first photographed as a couple just three months after Gregg’s passing.
While already grieving the loss of her husband, NeNe’s new relationship has brought on its own fair share of stress.
Back in June, Sioh’s estranged wife sued the reality star over claims the couple had an affair while he was still married.
Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh is seeking $100,000 in damages from the reality star for “alienation of affections” and “criminal conversation.”
NeNe has denied being a “husband stealer,” saying she’s been “dragged into” her boyfriends issues.
