Naomi Campbell Slams The Grammys For Cheating Wizkid, Shares ‘Essence’ And ‘MIL’ Achievements In The US

American model, Naomi Campbell has called out the Recording Academy for not giving Wizkid his well deserved Grammy award.

While Wizkid and Nigerians want to move on, Naomi feels the matter shouldn’t be laid to rest. She hopped on her Instagram account to call out Grammy Organizers for putting Essence and Made In Lagos album in the wrong category.

According to her, the Grammys are tone-deaf and always finding new ways to misrepresent and neglect the categorization of Afrobeats.

She averred that the Grammys ripped Big Wiz of his awards when they decided to put Essence a song, remixed by Justin Bieber in the wrong category instead of ‘Song Of The Year’.

“Made in Lagos’s Album and song Essence, were clearly in the wrong category how can you ignore the song Essence, The song by Wizkid, and Tems that was covered and remixed by Justin Bieber, you seem to isolate it under global when it should have been in the song of the year category”, she captioned one of her post on Instagram.

Naomi also shared a chart of Wizkid’s Billboard achievements and how Essence buzzed not only in Africa but also in the U.S. She informed the Recording Academy that their scam will never be forgotten even if they ignore the 1.3 Billion people calling them out over their injustice.
