My Song Blew But I Did Not Blow – Rapper, Laycon

Olamilekan Agbeleshe, better known by his stage name Laycon, is a Nigerian rapper and reality television star who has talked about his musical career and ascent to fame.
The musician reflected on how his song “Fierce” became popular but did not turn him into a household name in the music industry during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

Laycon, who won Big Brother Naija 2020 revealed that he has been in the industry since 2012 but people did not show interest in knowing him till he released Fierce.

“I have been doing music since 2016. I have been releasing music since 2012. I feel like the song that made people say ‘Who is this guy?’ has to be ‘Who is Laycon?’ or the song ‘Fierce’, this song blew up but I didn’t blow up with the song,” he said.

Also, he said that Afrobeats star, Davido made him realise while he was in the house that he has a huge fanbase.

Laycon said:-
“I think the first person that told me that I have no idea what was waiting for me outside was Davido.”
