In a rare show of honesty, a Nigerian man has returned a whopping N5 million to his client who mistakenly transferred the amount to him instead of N50,000.
The man, identified as @maziechidiime on Twitter, took to the social media platform tol narrate the incident.
According to his account, he had done a job for the client worth N50,000. However, the client made an error and transferred N5 million instead.
The man said he was shocked when he received the alert and allowed the money to sit in his account for six hours before calling the client.
Upon contacting the client, the man was informed that it was indeed a mistake on the client’s part. The client then requested for the account details to enable the man to refund the money. The man promptly obliged and returned the full amount.
He also revealed that the client had offered him an additional N40,000 as a reward for his honesty, which he declined.
His tweet reads; “He quickly told me to take an extra 40k for my goodness which I rejected.”
The incident has been widely praised on social media, with many commending the man’s integrity and honesty.
