Patience is a virtue for Tennessee Titans quarterback Malik Willis.

In college, he waited for his game to pan out after transferring from Auburn to Liberty.

The move paid off as the finished his career with two strong seasons.

He had 2,250 yards and 34 total touchdowns in his third playing year.

In his final season with the Flames, Willis finished with 2,857 yards, 27 passing touchdowns, and 13 rushing scores.

These numbers should have been enough to hear his name called early in the draft.

Experts projected that he would be a first-round pick.

However, he had to wait for another day to hear his name called.

The Titans selected him in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft and they might have unearthed a gem.

Pro Football Focus shared this short video of Willis completing a deep throw to wide receiver Josh Malone.

It was an effortless throw for the rookie and he generated enough air to hit Malone on the button.

The Titans’ offense could benefit from throws like this to give Derrick Henry a breather.

Likewise, it helps activate their wideouts in Malone and Robert Woods.

Will Willis Start Over Ryan Tannehill?

Ryan Tannehill is walking on thin ice after his three-interception game against the Cincinnati Bengals last postseason.

They had the chance to win the game, if not for that game-sealing interception.

However, head coach Mike Vrabel will still go with Tannehill due to his experience.

Besides, Henry’s return puts their offense back on track.

Tannehill may have until the middle of the season to solidify his spot as the starter.

But if he falters more than he succeeds, the Titans might give Willis a chance to make their offense more exciting.

He could also turn heads as he plays in the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.
