After making her return in May with “The One” and confirming her first album in six years MATA, M.I.A. has shared a snippet of a new single titled “Popular”, which is arriving on Friday (12 August).

M.I.A. tagged Diplo in the post, and wrote in the caption, “POPULAR 8/12 MIA IS DEAD AF, THE FUTURE IS HERE ITS MAI BITCHES LINK IN BIO ~~M.A.I.” She added in a comment, “This is not me i would never make a song with Diplo. I’m working on a Christian LP rn.”

She’s yet to share details of her MATA album, but it’ll follow 2016’s AIM.
