Kanye West will not face criminal charges after he was accused of allegedly punching a fan earlier this year, Page Six can confirm.
A spokesperson for the LA City Attorney’s Office told us Tuesday, “Regarding the incident involving Kanye West that took place January 13, 2022, after a thorough and careful review of all the evidence, our office is declining to file based on no reasonable likelihood of conviction.”
West, 45, was under investigation for battery after he allegedly got into an argument with a fan, who asked him for his autograph, and the altercation allegedly turned physical.
Video leaked of the immediate moments after the incident hours later. The footage, obtained by TMZ, showed the Yeezy CEO shouting at a woman as an unidentified male lied on the ground.
West could be heard in the clip yelling at the female staffer, “Get away from me,” as she tried to calm him down and said, “Give me your hand.”
“No, get away from me!” he then responded in rage. “Ain’t no hands, ain’t no hands.”
Page Six learned soon after that the alleged victim had attempted to get West’s autograph on two separate occasions.
An insider told us the unidentified male first asked the “Jesus Walks” rapper for an autograph outside of Craig’s in LA and then again outside of LA-hotspot Delilah two days later.
Law enforcement sources previously told TMZ that police were reviewing paparazzi videos and witness statements as part of their investigation.
The case was being investigated as a misdemeanor battery, which carries a maximum jail sentence of six months.
Reps for West did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the LA City Attorney’s Office decision.
