A Nigerian man identified as Adesile Mayowa, has been jailed in Ekiti state for stealing six packs of bottled water.
He however got an option of a N10,000 fine.
The 38-year-old received his three months imprisonment sentence at the Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The chief magistrate, Mrs Titilayo Ola-Olorun, sentenced the convict who pleaded guilty to the offence. She, however, gave the convict an option of N10,000 fine.
The police prosecutor, Insp Johnson Okunade, told the court that the convict went to the shop of one Alhaji Babalola Isiaka and stole six packs of bottled water.
The magistrate ordered the convict to be remanded in custody until he pays the fine.
