“I lost over $70k”- KCee speaks on working with US band, One Republic

Kingsley Okonkwo, nicknamed KCee, a well-known Ojapiano and Afrobeats artist, recently made a dramatic revelation while appearing on Isbae U’s YouTube series Curiosity Made Me Ask.

During the conversation, KCee discussed his music career and how he has grown and remained relevant in the business while being at the top for almost three decades.

He also talked about how the American band One Republic approached him and begged for a chance to participate on the remix of his song, Ojapiano. During the chat, Isbae U requested KCee to affirm that he did not pay for the remix.

He maintained that he didn’t, and he was surprised that One Republic would contact him and ask to collaborate on the same song.

He stated that he handed the guy $70,000, which is equivalent to N92 million, but the remix never materialized. KCee claimed that since then, he had resolved never to pay anyone for a remix, even if he had the money.
