How 23-Year-Old Kwara Poly Student Was Remanded For Crushing Police Officer

Babatunde Lekan, a 23-year-old student at the Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin, was remanded by an Ilorin Magistrate’s Court after he allegedly knocked down Police Inspector Isaac Osayintuyi.
According to police information, the defendant (Lekan) is accused of running down the police officer on the Ilorin/Omu-Aran highway with his Camry car.

According to reports, he fled in order to take off his licence plate and the fake leather windshield tint.

Police information also revealed that the inspector, who was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Omu Aran for medical attention, was later certified dead.

Reports reaching DAILY POST indicated that a preliminary investigation led to the arrest of the defendant.

Magistrate Usman Zainab, who presided on the matter, ordered Lekan’s remand till July 18, 2022, after considering the prayers of the prosecutor, Innocent Owoola for the remand of the suspect.
