Nigerian film actress, Bimbo Ademoye has returned to her father’s house where she grew up, to proudly show off her Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) award.
The 9th edition of the Award was held last night, May 20th at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos where Bimbo Ademoye won the Best Actress in a Comedy (movie, or TV series categories).
Excited about her win, Bimbo Ademoye who is a ‘daddy’s girl’ shared a video of herself driving down to her father’s house to show off her award. Calling him her biggest supporter and backbone, the Actress said her dad took her to her first audition and waited for 6 hours till she was done.
Bimbo Ademoye also revealed that most of her funny characters in her tv series, movies or skits are mimics from someone in her ‘hood’ while growing up.
Sharing the video, the actress rumoured to be dating VJ Adams wrote:
“Went back home to give the award to my award .
My biggest supporter, my rock, my back bone. My Father. Met his absence, but knew exactly where he’d be. (He loves chilling with the boys in the hood when he’s less busy on Sunday . My dad took me to my first audition and waited for 6 hours till I was done. My hood produced all the characters that has made you guys laugh.
From iya barakat, to todowede, to Selina. I’ve had to mimic someone from the hood to give those characters life. My name is Bimbo Ademoye, Ademoye Adekunke’s daughter, Ari’s aunty, and I’m from Ebute meta. Born and bred in the hood.
There are so many people I’d love to appreciate. I’m prepping my speech guys.”
