Guro Reiten signs new three-year Chelsea contract

Guro Reiten has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal with Chelsea, keeping her at the club until 2025.

The Norwegian international has been a key part of Emma Hayes’ side since joining from LSK Kvinner in the summer of 2019, and her existing contract had been due to expire at the end of the upcoming 2022/23 season.

Reiten becomes the latest Chelsea player to commit her long-term future to the club, with Millie Bright and Niamh Charles both also signing new three-year deals this August.

“I’m so happy to be extending my time at Chelsea for three further years,” said Reiten. “We’ve already achieved so much during my time here at the club and I really can’t wait to see what we can do next.

“A big thank you to all the fans, they have been a huge support throughout, and I look forward to seeing them all this weekend ahead of our new season.”

Reiten has won a trio of WSL titles during her three years in west London, plus two FA Cups and two Continental Cups.

The 28-year-old has made 55 WSL appearances for the Blues, netting 13 goals and chipping in with a further 16 assists. Her performances during the 2021/22 season saw her rewarded with a place in the PFA team of the year.

“We are delighted that Guro has extended her contract with the club,” added general manager Paul Green. “Her goals and assists have been vital to the team’s success in the last few years. We look forward to seeing her continue to improve and develop in the upcoming years here at Chelsea.”
