Grammy 2022 Submissions Now Open – Which Albums, Songs and Artists Deserve To Be Nominated?

Submissions for the 2022 Grammys are officially open.
The Grammy Awards is the most prestigious recognition in the music industry globally. Every year for 62 years, the Recording Academy has awarded artists, songs and albums that deserve recognition with Grammy’s in several categories.

Recall that earlier this year, Burna Boy and Wizkid jointly became the first artists to win the Grammy Award. Burna won the Best Global Album for his critically acclaimed “Twice As Tall” album, which was released in July 2020, just in time for last year’s submissions.

Wizkid who won the Best Music Video alongside Beyonce for his part on “Brown Skin Girl,” will now be looking forward to winning a Grammy in his own right, at the next award show.

His critically and commercially successful studio album, “Made in Lagos” was released last October and is eligible to be nominated for the Best Global Album category too.

If Wizkid is nominated, his only obstacle will probably be Angelique Kidjo, who dropped an album not too long ago. Kidjo, who is a five-time Grammy winner deprived Burna Boy of the Best World Album award in 2019.

Besides Wizkid, there are definitely other Nigerian artists who have dropped within the past year who deserve to be at least nominated for the Grammy Award.

One such artist, I think, is Fireboy. His sophomore album, “Apollo” is a solid project in its own right and definitely deserves some accolades.

Now, let’s hear from you.
