Ghana Coach Blast Ayew & Others After 1 – 1 Draw With Gabon

Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac has criticized his players, including captain Andre Ayew after they failed to beat Gabon in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, tie on Friday.
Ayew’s 18 minutes goal put the Black Stars ahead, but Jim Allevinah equalized for Gabon after scoring a late goal in the second half as the game ended in a 1-1 draw after full time.

Reacting after the game, Rajevac said his players ‘lost concentration’ during the encounter against Gabon, just like their first game.

Recall that Ghana lost their first game 1-0 against Morocco.

“It was a difficult and competitive game,” Rajevac said at his post-match press conference.

“We were supposed to end the match, winning, but as in the first game, we lost concentration.

“I think in the next game, we will do better and we will be able to collect the three points to move on to the next stage. We need to stay focused and be strong-minded to move on.”

Ghana will now take on Comoros in their last Group C fixture.

The result against Gabon means Ghana are in the third position in Group C with 1 point from two games.

They are behind Gabon and Morocco, who have 4 and 6 points respectively on the log.
