A group, Concerned Youths for Ede Development, has commended police officers over the recent arrest of the notorious criminal and serial killer, Rasheed Oko Ilu, who has been terrorising Ede community and environs in Osun State.
The Group Coordinator who pleaded anonymity, in his press statement, commended the police for coming to the rescue of voiceless people being oppressed on daily basis by Rasheed Oko Ilu and his cohorts and seeks for severe punishment against Rasheed who has been declared wanted for series of crimes in the past.
It would be recalled that Rasheed Oko Ilu was declared a notorious and popular terror who has been victimising the people and properties of Ede for quite a while.
While some people claimed that some powerful individuals were behind his courage, some said Rasheed has been notorious since teenage days.
The statement read,
” Rasheed in different times, has publicly threatened peoples of different calibres with death and go extra miles to perpetrate his killings within the Ede Community and environs. He doesn’t spare vandalism and destruction of public and private properties whenever he is in rage.”
“We However, appreciate the Nigerian Police for coming to our rescue at this very critical time as well calls for a forensic investigation and adequate punishment for Rasheed Oko Ilu who has been founded wanting of several crimes in the past.
“The information in our disposal revealed, that some powerful individual are pressuring police commissioner in the state to release the nabbed hardened criminal to them.
“We are hereby pleading to the Nigeria police never to make mistake of releasing Rasheed Oko Ilu to his sponsors, if the peace of Ede Community and it’s residents is paramount to the Police Force.”
