Dylan Cease Refuses To Slow Down His Insane Pace

Dylan Cease is on one heck of a run right now.

With all the injuries the Chicago White Sox have dealt with this season, especially in their starting rotation, Cease has picked up the slack and has become a true ace.

Yesterday, he had yet another solid outing, going six innings and allowing one run in a loss to the Kansas City Royals.

Despite the loss, it was the 14th straight start for Cease where he allowed one earned run or less.

On Twitter, Codify revealed some stats from his current run of success.

In eight of those 14 starts, Cease has not allowed an earned run.

Cease Continues His Dominance

Cease is on an absolute warpath with the way he’s pitching this season.

He simply can’t be stopped.

He has been the star for the White Sox this season as they have fought through various injuries and struggles.

Though he took the loss yesterday, Cease remains 12-5 on the year with a 1.96 ERA.

He’s pitching like a Cy Young candidate and certainly has a decent shot at winning the award.

Only Justin Verlander‘s ERA is better than Cease’s, at least among qualified starters.

Cease is almost singlehandedly keeping the White Sox alive in the postseason chase with his dominance.

He’s a guy the White Sox can rely on for innings and durability.

He isn’t allowing many runs and he’s simply locked in.

His ERA is second best in all of baseball.

The White Sox needed somebody to step up this season and Cease has been the guy to do it.

We’ll see if he can catch Verlander in the Cy Young race.

It’s neck and neck right now, but if Cease keeps dominating, that award could be his when it’s all said and done.
