Dusty Baker Comments On His Peaceful Weekend

Before last Friday’s game, Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker tested positive for COVID-19.

Bench coach Joe Espada served as the manager during Baker’s absence.

The skipper reportedly felt good during his quarantine, and didn’t report any serious symptoms.

In fact, he took advantage of the quarantine to get some rest and catch a documentary.

“The Astros’ game on Sunday in Cleveland aired on Peacock. Dusty Baker couldn’t find a way to watch it in quarantine, so he opted for a Bob Marley documentary on Netflix instead. ‘That was a pretty good afternoon,’ Baker said. ‘I followed the game on my phone,’” Houston Chronicle’s Chandler Rome tweeted after chatting with Baker.

It sounds like a really fun weekend, especially the Marley documentary.

Everybody deserves to kick back and relax every once in a while, even MLB managers.

Recharging Batteries And Getting Some Rest

Baker couldn’t be on the field with his players or watch the game on Sunday, so he enjoyed the day while doing something different.

Fortunately for Baker, the Astros, and his players, he will return to the dugout on Thursday.

The team will try to avenge a defeat at the hands of the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

The Astros, however, don’t have to worry about anyone catching them in the AL West standings.

With a 71-41 record, they are 10.5 games ahead of the second-place Seattle Mariners.

They are one of the majors’ best teams, and are tied with the New York Yankees for best record in the American League.

Both teams will likely face off against each other come playoff time, but for now, Houston is in a comfortable position.
