“Depression caused me to start drinking”

  • In a video shared on his Instastory, the actor admitted that depression made him start drinking but he has never taken hard drugs.
  • He also notified the public about his project which lack of funds has hampered from being a reality.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku has reacted to allegations of having sunk deep into drug addiction.

It’s no longer news that claims about Anuku doing drugs have been trending lately due to his recent looks; which most people consider disturbing.

However, in a video on his Instagram story, the movie star categorically stated that he doesn’t do drugs. He further admitted to having taken solace in the bottle after being struck by depression.

Anuku’s depression stems from the hardships he’s passing through. In the clip, he showed off a piece of land he acquired in Abuja for setting up his film school but funds have been his greatest challenge, causing the land to lie fallow for years.

The entertainer also expressed optimism about God’s blessing, stating that when God finally sends helpers to him, everyone will benefit from it.

Recall that Anuku a few days back came forward to appeal to the Delta State governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and the public for assistance.

Hanks Anuku shared a video where he earnestly appealed to the governor and fellow Nigerians for financial support.

Opening up about his efforts to maintain his status as an entertainer, Hanks expressed the importance of letting everyone know the challenges he is currently facing.

He wrote:
