Popular Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti, has been granted bail by the chief magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos state.
The singer was granted bail on Tuesday, May 16. The court also directed police to investigate the alleged attack on an officer within 48 hours.
Seun Kuti’s car was halted on the Third Mainland Bridge and the son of the famed Fela Kuti was detained for slapping an officer.
But the defence counsel, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), begged the court not to remand his client.
Seun had claimed that the police officer threatened his life and that of his family.
