Emi Martinez has urged Arsenal supporters to continue to back manager, Mikel Arteta.
The Argentina goalkeeper on Wednesday sealed a £20m move away from the Emirates to Aston Villa.
Martinez leaves the Gunners after almost 10 years on their books.
The 28-year-old was brought into the team after football resumed after the COVID-19 lockdown.
He responded with a string of heroic performances, helping Arsenal to win the FA Cup and Community Shield.
But with Arteta restoring Bernd Leno as his number one keeper for the new season, Martinez knew he needed to leave.
Martinez, however, harbours no ill-feelings about Arteta and his exit.
He told the club’s official website:
“I just want to say to the fans that they should trust the process, they are doing really good work with Mikel and his staff and I wish them all the best.”
