CKay, Joeboy, Fireboy, or Rema — Who Is Most Likely To Bring Home A Grammy?

For the past three days, most of the music conversations have been centered around Wizkid’s devastating Grammy loss.
The truth is, Wizkid was the best Nigerian candidate to win a Grammy after the huge success of his “Made in Lagos” LP for the past two years. If Wizkid can’t win, then who can? That’s the million-dollar question.

Afrobeats has become global and our artists have continued to blaze trails across the globe putting Nigeria—and Africa—on the map. But it doesn’t all start and end with WizKid. If anything, WizKid was just there to pave the way for the artists that will come after him.

In the past three years, we’ve begun to see a glimpse of promise in some of the young acts that have emerged. From the Mavin records artist, Rema, to the “Nobody” hit-maker, Joeboy, there has been some kind of renaissance.

There are four new guys at the forefront of this renaissance and they are Rema, Fireboy, Joeboy, and CKay.

These guys have pulled numbers that many people thought were previously impossible for them to pull. They’ve won awards, they’ve hit the Billboard charts, they’ve topped charts home and abroad and they continue to put out music consistently.

Maybe we shouldn’t lose hope on the Grammy after all? Does any of these guys look promising enough to go and bring back the Grammy back for us? If yes, then who?

That’s the big question
