Burna Boy & Tems Make Spotify’s 2022 Songs Of Summer List — Deserved Or Not?

The era of “Essence” being the song of the summer has finally gone.
Another summer is coming and you know what that means. It means new songs, new hits, new viral tunes, new vibes!

As usual, the music streaming giant, Spotify has released their predictions for Songs of the Summer 2022 and this time, only two Nigerians made the list.

On the list is Burna Boy, with his latest bop, “Last Last.” The song which has quickly become a fan favorite is the first single from his upcoming “Love, Damini” album.

Released a couple of weeks ago, the song has been on top of the charts for the past few weeks, and by now, it’s smash status is not even debatable anymore. But does it have the potential to become even more viral this summer. Maybe even break some records “Essence” set last year? Spotify says it does.

And that’s quite a win for Burna Boy, because his last few singles before this haven’t really been as impressive as one would have expected them to be. But “Last, Last” is changing things for the man.

The only other Nigerian artist who made the list is Tems. Tems has been a menace since she did “Essence” with WizKid. Last year, she collaborated with Drake, and now she’s on a song with Future (and Drake.)

The song, “WAIT FOR U” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 weeks ago, and still currently sits at #3. A huge one for Tems indeed. It is also on Spotify’s 2022 Summer Songs list.

That’s about it. Other artists on the list include Jack Harlow, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Latto, and of course, Future and Drake.

Do You Think Burna Boy & Tems Deserve To Be On This Major List?
