Burna Boy Shares The Role Late Virgil Abloh Was To Play In His Next Album

Virgil Abloh, an international fashion designer, was reported dead on the 28th of November, and his close friend, Burna Boy, released a post on his passing on social media.
Burna Boy confessed in an emotional reaction letter that he had a series of conversations with Virgil Abloh about his future album and that he had no idea. On Sunday, November 28th, 2021, he posted this on his Instagram stories.

Virgil Abloh, an American designer and entrepreneur who died at the age of 41, was the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear line since 2018.

His popularity is such that he has been photographed alongside some of the world’s most famous musicians. Burna Boy’s latest track with Polo G, Want It All, has a reference to Virgil.

Burna Boy detailed how he held extended virtual meetings with the OFF-White designer debating the path for his upcoming project via his Instagram stories in response to Virgil Abloh’s passing.

Burna admitted that he felt awful about not inquiring about Virgil’s well-being during one of those encounters.

He also stated that the late Virgil was meant to be the creative director for his next album and that his death would have a significant impact on the project.
