Brighton insist Man Utd target Moises Caicedo is not for sale

Brighton & Hove Albion have no intention of selling Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer, sources have confirmed to 90min.

Manchester United are one of a number of sides who have taken a keen interest in Caicedo’s outstanding start to the new season, and the collapse of their move for Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot has seen interest heightened.

United passed up on the chance to bring Caicedo to England just over 18 months ago for around €5m from Independiente del Valle, before Brighton themselves swooped in, but manager Erik ten Hag is understood to like the player.

Caicedo dominated the midfield area during Brighton’s 2-1 win at Old Trafford on the opening weekend of the new season, and also scored against them at the back end of the last campaign in a humbling 4-0 win for the Seagulls.

90min understands that Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are amongst the teams to be keeping tabs on his progress, but Brighton realise they have one of European football’s most promising young players and insist he is not going anywhere. Sources close to Brighton say there is “no chance” he will leave this summer.

Brighton have already raised significant funds through the sales of Yves Bissouma and Marc Cucurella in recent weeks, with the players joining Tottenham and Chelsea respectively.
