Quarterback Baker Mayfield continues his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers.

The Cleveland Browns traded him to Carolina in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

That selection becomes a fourth-rounder if Mayfield plays 70 percent of the snaps in 2022.

It’s somewhat bizarre to see Mayfield donning the Panthers uniform.

But even if he’s already with another team, Odell Beckham Jr. is showing support for his former teammate.

ESPN Cleveland’s Emmett Golden shared an Instagram screenshot showing Mayfield wearing the full Panthers uniform.

The caption reads, “Baker era underway in Carolina.”

Under it is Beckham’s comment which said, “Go shine!!!!!!”

That message of support should be a big deal for Mayfield since he was being blamed by Beckham’s father for missing his son on wide-open opportunities.

The rift supposedly got bigger when Beckham Sr. commissioned a video to highlight these openings.

That video led to Beckham Jr.’s release from the Browns before signing with the Los Angeles Rams wherein he won Super Bowl LVI.

It’s All In The Past Between Beckham And Mayfield

As they forge new paths, Beckham throws support for his former teammate.

It’s a nice closure from those tense moments when they were still in Cleveland.

But as Mayfield tries to bring more victories for the Panthers, Beckham will have to wait before returning to the field after suffering an ACL injury in the big game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The recovery period for such an injury takes time and that’s Beckham’s priority for now.

But while he is sidelined, he is encouraging Mayfield to play his best.

When Beckham’s time comes, contract offers will come in after his impressive performance in the Super Bowl.
