Babajide Sanwo-Olu Early Life
He was born on June 25, 1965, into a Christian household in Lagos state, Nigeria. According to his birth date, he will be 57 years old on June 25, 2022.
He attended the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after receiving his first leaving school certificate and earning his first degree in the Department of Surveying.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu Career
From 1994 to 1997, he worked as a treasurer in the Lead Merchant Bank before moving on to the United Bank of Africa (UBA) as the head of the foreign money market. He was also the chairman of Baywatch Group Limited and a manager for First Inland Bank (now First City Monument Bank).
Political Career
Babajide Sanwoolu first entered politics in 2003. He was appointed as a Special Adviser on Corporate Matters to Femi Pedro, the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
He later became the interim commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget until 2007, when he was appointed by then-Governor Bola Tinubu as the commissioner for Commerce and Industry.
Following the 2007 general elections, he was appointed Commissioner of Establishment, Training, and Personnel by Babatunde Fashola, and he was appointed Managing Director of Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in 2016.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu major public sector accomplishments include overseeing the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) privatization efforts.
He founded and served as the first Chairman of the Lagos Security Trust Fund. His directives later resulted in the establishment of the LAGBUS System and the Control & Command Centre at Alausa, Ikeja.
He was elected governor in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), defeating Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 206,141 votes.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu is married to Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and has four children. Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu is both a doctor and an administrator. She acquired her bachelor’s degree in medicine (MBBS) and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
