Cat Marnell has her next project lined up.
The “How to Murder Your Life” author tells Page Six exclusively that she is working on a “sleazy” chick-lit novel.
“It’s going to be sexy, sleazy, glamorous and ultra-girly … just like me,” Marnell shares. “It’s coming for that Judith Krantz trajectory.”
Marnell, 39, says her forthcoming book will be about a “megalomaniacal Tribeca socialite who is destroyed by love and runs away to Ibiza,” which naturally sounds like an upgraded version of her own life.
“I’m going to spin a contemporary fantasy world full of off loft shopping, Ligne Roset Togo loveseats, Gagosian openings, dashing electronic music DJs, Issey Miyake Prism bags and Telfar crop tops,” she promises.
“Fantasy to feminine.”
Marnell assures us — and her fans — that those looking for a “second tell-all full of juicy secrets won’t be disappointed.”
“I’m doing this because it’s the most creative challenge I can possibly undertake, and I know I will crush it,” she says. “I haven’t been this excited about work in 10 years.”
The “Babyshambles” writer does not know when exactly it will be published, but she plans to have the first draft ready by spring.
“She is an insane, raw talent who has moved seamlessly through the world of magazines and graffiti artists,” Marnell’s agent, Byrd Leavell, tells us. “An intoxicating, unapologetic badass, smoke-show, game-changing beauty, and her vision for this novel feels like the brilliant culmination of everything she has done to date.”
